In My Dreams
In my Dreams:
I create colorful, larger-than-life abstract street murals
in distant, exotic cities like Krakow, Buenos Aires and Pai.
I am omnilingual and possess the ability
to speak and understand any language fluently
but can shut off this ability when
I want to be alone.
I fly, not birdlike, but in a standing position
and stay aloft by holding my hands near my hips
just right.
Breathing underwater is never a problem.
I always survive the nuclear apocalypse or epic tidal wave,
and walk amazed among the ruins.
I participate in hazy, late night guitar jams
on the Spanish Steps in Rome
with Keef Richards, Jumpin Respess and Django Reinhardt.
Guilt, shame and anger are not yet discovered.
I sing songs not yet composed that quickly fade from memory when I wake.
Beaches are mandatory and mountains are never an obstacle.

Last Night's Dream
In my dream last night I had an arm-punching contest with Shaquille O'Neal. It felt like punching the side of a cow every time I hit him but when he hit me it never hurt and he got frustrated so I took him to my Mom's house and she had a fresh baked cherry/rhubarb pie. I got one piece and Shaq ate the rest. He told us how he used to play the arm-punching game with Kobe, and Kobe would cry.
